The Valley Renewal: Phases One and Two

This represents conceptual plans for Renewal of The Valley Hospital – June 2007.

The Valley Renewal – Phase One:

Off-site Parking/Linwood Parking Deck Added

The first step of Phase One would be to accomplish off-site parking. We would then build a new, one-story, open parking deck over the current parking area adjacent to Linwood Avenue.

North Building Constructed

The next step of Phase One would be to construct a new North Building adjacent to the Cheel Building. It would have four stories above ground and two below.

Phillips Building Removed/Parking Added

The next step in Phase One would be to remove the Phillips Building and in its place add both above and below grade parking. This would conclude Phase One in which a new North Building would be constructed and Phillips, the oldest building on the campus, would be removed.

The Valley Renewal – Phase Two

West Building Constructed

The second phase of Renewal would take place years after the completion of Phase One. Similar to how Valley's current campus evolved: the Linwood building was built in the fifties, the Phillips building in the sixties, the Bergen Building in the seventies, the Cheel Building in the eighties and offsite development in the nineties.

The first component would be the construction of a new four story above ground West Building, adjacent to North and Cheel. It would house inpatient beds and diagnostic and treatment facilities.

Bergen Removed/South Building Constructed 

The addition of the West Building would then allow us to remove the Bergen Building and follow with a new, smaller four story above ground South Building, which would house inpatient beds and support services. This would then conclude Phase Two and these plans for Renewal.
