The Valley Hospital, in affiliation with New York-Presbyterian Hospital, has established the Center for Liver Diseases. The Center is located at 579 Franklin Turnpike in Ridgewood and operates in affiliation with physicians from New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
The Center for Liver Diseases provides comprehensive prevention, diagnostic, evaluation, treatment, management, and consultation services for patients with all types of liver diseases, including hepatitis A, B, and C, cirrhosis, primary biliary cirrhosis, sclerosing cholangitis, complications of portal hypertension, alcoholic liver disease, and cancer of the liver and bile duct. Diagnostic tests - including lab tests, CT scans, ultrasounds, MRIs, and liver biopsies - are available at the Center and at The Valley Hospital. Treatment may include medications, including pegylated interferon or novel medications currently in clinical trials for hepatitis, or various surgical procedures. If a patient requires a liver transplant, he/she will be assessed at the Center for Liver Diseases and placed on a transplant list at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
