The Valley Hospital PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency program is designed to develop the skills and confidence required for providing contemporary pharmaceutical care in a diverse population of patients. As a large non- teaching community hospital, The Valley Hospital affords unique opportunities for the resident to work collaboratively with a variety of healthcare professionals, in both the acute care and ambulatory arena, to solve complex medication-related issues presented in health care today.
The Valley Hospital residency is a 12-month accredited program designed around the ASHP Residency Learning System model. As one of the first residency programs in New Jersey, we have been proudly involved in pharmacy residency training since 1972. The Valley Hospital currently offers two PGY1 positions.
PGY-1 program graduates will be competent pharmacist clinicians prepared for patient care positions in acute and ambulatory care settings, clinical preceptor positions, or a specialty residency or fellowship.
Graduate with a Teaching Certificate
You will participate in the Residency/Fellowship Teaching Certificate program provided by the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University, which includes precepting your own pharmacy student.
