Nursing at Valley

Welcome to the web site for the Department of Nursing at The Valley Hospital. Please see our Vision Statement and Nursing Philosophy below, or select a link on the right for more information.

Nursing Vision Statement

We, as a community of nurses, uphold and promote the values of integrity, respect, and loyalty.

We, as advocates, hold an unwavering commitment to champion the needs of our patients and colleagues.

We, as compassionate nurses, co-create a caring-healing environment, that supports the achievement of the highest quality of care possible.

We, as mentors, will continue our legacy of uncompromising professional excellence through the creative art of nursing.

Nursing Philosophy

We Believe:

  • That healthcare is a human right and that patients have the right and are encouraged to participate in their own care whether the goal is quality of life or dignity of death.
  • That the community of nurses makes a commitment to deliver compassionate care to the patient in a competent, ethical, and caring manner.
  • That the scope of nursing care includes the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health.
  • That professional nursing values an interdisciplinary, collaborative process to create a caring-healing and patient-centered environment.
  • That the nursing community is qualified through licensure, ongoing education, and experience.
  • That the nursing community is responsible as advocates and mentors for our profession and for the evolution of health care.
